Boss A Ivan Khong from SCE Distributor Sdn Bhd, or better known as Boss A among everyone, is involved in the business of buying and selling used computers. Why did I choose this field? Since childhood, Boss A came from a B40 family and dreamed of owning a computer to learn, but could not afford it. At that time, Boss A made a promise to himself that one day he would enter this field to give back to the community.

At the age of 17-18, Boss A did not choose to continue his studies but instead became a technician. At the age of 19-20, Boss A worked as a salesperson at Lowyat Shopping Mall. At that time, the rapid growth of the computer industry made Boss A aware of the high demand for used computers in the market. The profit margin from buying and selling new computers at that time was not very profitable, around only 10-15%. Therefore, Boss A started getting involved in the trade of used computers and sold them himself, and his sales performance gradually improved.

Soon after, Boss A started his own business by using a credit card to embark on this journey, as well as collaborating with two shareholders to run the SCE business. In the beginning, the performance was not very promising, but fortunately, we soon encountered the Pandemic MCO, during which we made a profit. However, after making the profit, Boss A became extravagant and invested in areas that I could not control, and eventually, all my money was lost.

When Boss A started with live streaming, all the shareholders opposed my decision to make short videos, but Boss A didn’t care and continued anyway. As a result of differing opinions, one day, Boss A received the news that the shareholders, along with some key employees, resigned collectively. At that time, many of the company’s affairs were taken over by Boss A’s wife.
In fact, before this, Boss A never studied management and could only learn gradually. From there, Boss A continued to work hard. Fortunately, during the live streaming, I suddenly received many orders on Facebook and secured first place. After achieving good results on Facebook, we were lucky because when TikTok shops were just starting, we had already joined and became one of the first to enter TikTok, which led to receiving many orders on TikTok as well.

Earlier this year, we started to shift direction and ventured into the Shopee platform. As for the future, if asked about my direction, Boss A actually wants to build an IP incubation. What is IP incubation? Boss A hopes to have many online accounts that help promote the company, all working for my company and becoming broadcasters for the company’s IP incubation. Boss A aims to build the largest online seller and become the largest online shopping center. This is my hope for the heights the company can reach.
